Singer Black Thunder left the island for a four-week tour of Europe last week. Black Thunder has now gained a lot of recognition with his ‘World Crisis’ album, which is produced on his Black Thunder Production label. Born Cecil Taylor in the parish of Clarendon, he took Montego Bay for his home from 1982, when he boarded the train with only two pairs of pants and two shirts. He was given a room by a friend, Conroy Brown, a singer. After staying at Brown’s home, Taylor began to get work in the hotels as a cabaret singer and things started to pick up for him. Black Thunder is ever thankful to Conroy Brown for helping him out. In recent times, he has been in demand to appear at the major festivals in Europe. He has gone to many countries, including: The Gambia, Canada, several European countries including Portugal, Greece, Holland, Germany, France and Belgium and also the USA. He says, the song ‘World Crisis’ is putting him in demand for more shows. He is managed by No Panic Entertainment out of Texas, USA.
