STILL NO REPORT FROM POLICE, AS UNANSWERED QUESTIONS LINGER

Mayor Michael Belnavis has been released from hospital and is at home resting, after being attacked Monday night, January 20, 2025. Reports are that the Mayor’s condition is worse than initially reported.
The Ocho Rios Councillor and Chairman of St Ann’s Municipal Corporation was attacked and chopped several times, including to his head. The attack took place at an unoccupied apartment he owns between Boscobel and Oracabessa.

Police have yet to issue a report although senior officers at St Mary Police and Area 2 who are investigating say they are unable to comment or give details to questions being posed by journalists.
The North Coast Times was informed that the Mayor was released, Wednesday evening, January 22. He left hospital heavily bandaged.
He was taken directly to his home in St Mary.
The Mayor was admitted to the St Ann’sBay Hospital Tuesday afternoon, January 21. He had been treated and released Monday night but returned to the hospital after complaining of discomfort and pain.
Police say the main suspect in the attack on Mr Belnavis remains in their custody but they are not saying how he got there and what was his motive for the attack on the St Ann’s Bay Mayor.
