Since opening its doors in June of 2014, Beauty Rush and Spa has become quite a sensation in the cosmetology and beauty care field. When The Times visited the establishment on Friday, February 13 we were greeted with radiant smiles upon entry.Manager and owner of the business, Bridigidia Johnson, said: “Since the business has opened its doors in June of 2014, it has proven to be quite a competitor with other spas in and around the Ocho Rios area with its wide variety of services, excellent customer service and great treatment of its clients.”The business is located at Shop No. 6 in Island Plaza (also called Burger King Plaza), Ocho Rios. The name Beauty Rush was selected for the business due to its attractive ambiance and upscale setting which provides the perfect backdrop for clients to experience the magical touch of each stylist as they make their dreams a reality.There are four staff members, providing a wide range of services from the taking care of the hair, nails, spa treatment and professionally done make up and massages. In addition, certain beauty items are sold, including hair extensions such as Brazilian hair and Remy hair; perfumes, body lotions, makeup kits and more cosmetic items.

Beauty therapist at Beauty Rush and Spa, Shorna Williams, is among the team who ensures that the customers’ needs are met. She explained that prices for certain services and beauty items are very reasonable. “The prices of hair extensions range from $3,000 up,”said Ms. Williams, who also noted she was trained at the Face Place Beauty School in Kingston. Another employee a nail technician, Mikki-Lee Hunter commended the prices for nail art that starts at $1,600.
