Portland businessman Everton ‘Beachy Stout’ McDonald has been found guilty of the murder of his wife, Tonia.
McDonald and co-accused Oscar Barnes were Wednesday afternoon, March 6, found guilty of murder and conspiracy to murder, in the Home Circuit Court.
The seven-member jury returned a unanimous verdict, after deliberating for just over an hour
Tonia’s partially burnt body was found on a deserted road in Sherwood Forest, Portland, in her burn-out vehicle in July 2020. Her throat was slashed.
The trial of McDonald, the well-known Portland supermarket owner, has been closely watched over the last several months, during which time he protested his innocence.
The men are to be sentenced on May 7.
