GRADUATES AT LIBERTY LEARNING CENTRE ENCOURAGED TO KEEP THEIR GOOD QUALITIES
The graduates at Liberty Learning Centre have been encouraged to keep the qualities they have learned to help them face the challenges and take the opportunities at the high school at which they have been placed.

Guest speaker at the graduation was Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) executive Marjorie Leyden-Kirton. She also encouraged parents to continue their support of the children who had done so well and were now going to high schools.
Mrs Kirton was giving the main address at the graduation ceremony for 33 grade 6 students of Liberty Learning Centre, held at the Ocho Rios Baptist Church, St Ann on Thursday, June 27.

She told the students they could be anything they wanted to be. Mrs Kirton told them that they would face many changes in high school. These included the number of new subjects they would study and making new friends. However, she reminded them that they needed to keep their focus and “Maintain your Godly persona.” Mrs Kirton also encouraged them to learn how to make good choices.

Mrs Kirton also had words for the parents. She used the Bible story of the Prodigal Son and made points from it about the need for responsibility, love, and forgiveness. “Ensure that you create and maintain that bond with your children,” while they are in high school, she advised. She asked parents not to lose their children along the way. She encouraged the parents to get involved in the lives of the children at high school through PTA and attend important functions as they did at Liberty Learning Centre.
Welcome at the graduation was given by Deputy Head Girl Rhea Clarke. Prayer was said by Pastor Wesley Boynes. Rosalee Knight introduced the guest speaker. The vote of thanks was done by Nathaniel Shelton and Alyssa Barclay.
The valedictory address was done, through alternate reading, by Nylah Phipps and Aiden Robinson.
