Baby killed in triple murder christened 3 days earlier Mom said to have been told to abort baby

The baby killed in the triple murder last week had been Christened only days earlier.

The baby’s mother, 25-year-old  Rushell Williams had taken the child, eight-month old Aleair Sewell to their church near Hope Bay, Portland for the Christening Sunday, September 4. Three days later the baby, her mother and a 62-year-old man, Albert Pryce with whom they were living had all been shot dead.

Ms William’s mother, Blassett Stewart told North Coast Times she has lost a special daughter who just wanted to work and make herself better.

Speaking at her home in Bloomfield Swift River Portland, Sunday, 51-year-old Stewart, unemployed, said her daughter Williams, her fourth child was special to her.  She said Sunday, she was still not eating after learning of the death, first over the telephone from a friend. She has not gone to identify her daughter or granddaughter. “Dem wouldn’t even leave the baby!” She exclaimed.

THREE CHILDREN

The 25-year-old, Williams died leaving three children, 11, nine and five years old.

Ms Stewart said she and her daughter had gone together to the church on Sunday and Christened the baby. She said her daughter had left with the baby that Tuesday afternoon, September 6, to return to Annotto Bay to her job as a bartender.  She had been working there for over three years and returned to Bloomfield, about 40 kilometers away, regularly. “Mi walk them out to the bus stop,’ Miss Stewart said, remembering the last time she saw her daughter

She said that as usual her daughter, Rushell called her that evening and said she had reached. She said the man with whom they lived, Albert Pryce who she called Ali also called her that afternoon and gave a message to her to reach Rushell. Ms Stewart said Mr Pryce asked her to tell her daughter to cook saltfish and beans that evening.

She said Mr Pryce often gave messages to her for her daughter because sometimes while at work could not reach her on the phone at the bar.

Ms Stewart said her daughter had come into contact with Pryce during the time she was depressed and contemplating suicide.  She made allegations about what William’s boyfriend did to her at the time and what his attitude was to her having the baby. The Times was unable to contact the ex-boyfriend and baby’s father about the allegations.

According to Ms Stewart she discouraged her daughter, Rushell Williams, from an abortion. She said after the child was born, Rushell went back to live with the baby’s father, in Broadgate, near Annotto Bay but  she said her daughter left again because of the treatment she received.

She said Mr Pryce continued to care for Ms Williams and the baby. Ms Stewart said she has never met the father of her grand child and he had not called following the death.

She said her daughter “just wanted to work and take care of herself.”trip
