AXUM WIN AS ST MARY MAJOR LEAGUE KICKS OFF

11 TEAMS IN THE COMPETITION

The St Mary FA /Secure Security Major League competition is well on the way after its May 26 start.

In the opening game, Axum FC beat Fort George Academy 3-2.

Scoring for Axum were Hushane Hinds, Delano Thompson, and Shakiel Smith. For Fort George Orlando Smith and Jermaine Martin were on the score sheet.

Axum were the second-placed team last season behind Champions Gray’s Inn Football Club that has been promoted to Tier 2.

Eleven teams are in the competition with matches scheduled mainly for Saturdays and Sundays.

The other teams are: Albion Mountain, Bamboo Tree, Enfield, Gayle, St Mary Central, Highgate United, Rangers, Mango Valley and Fort George.

In the other match played so far in the competition, St Mary Central beat Highgate United 4-1.
