Another wanted man captured in St Ann

One of western Jamaica’s most wanted was nabbed by the police in Brown’s Town, St. Ann on Thursday morning, July 13.

The police said the man’s identity is being withheld at this time as he is to face several identification parades in relation to several incidents.

However, other media reports had identified the man as Omar Greaves, alias ‘Greedy Man.’

The man was detained during an operation by the Trelawny and St. Ann police.

Police reports are that Greaves was spotted at about 8:45 a.m. at a business establishment in Brown’s Town.

He ran and was chased, but initially escaped.

However, the man, said to be Greaves, was later apprehended in the community of Standfast, Brown’s Town, about 10:30 a.m.

Police say the suspect is wanted for questioning in relation to cases of murder, break-ins and robbery in Hanover and in relation to cases of rape and robbery in Trelawny.

The capture of this alleged criminal comes on the heels of the arrest of another wanted man in the parish on Monday, July 3.

The Times in its last issue reported that 28-year-old Shane Wellington, alias Blacks, a labourer of Cassava Road in St Catherine was caught in Breadnut Hill in St Ann during an operation.

Wellington, who is charged for a murder committed in St. Catherine, had escaped custody from October of last year and has been on the run since that time.

Wellington has since been handed over to the custody of the St Catherine police.
