MAN HELD UP IN OCHI, PHONE STOLEN
OCHO RIOS, St Ann; April 3, 2025
Police have charged a man who reportedly used a knife to hold up and rob a man of his mobile phone, in Ocho Rios, St Ann.
Charged is forty-year-old Ricardo Henry otherwise called ‘Ricky Biggs’, of Steer Town, St. Ann. Henry has been charged with robbery with aggravation and possession of an offensive weapon.
Reports from the St. Ann’s Bay Police are that at just after midnight on Friday, March 7, a man was walking along Main Street in Ocho Rios when two men armed with knives approached him. One of the men was reportedly known to the complainant as ‘Ricky Biggs’
The man was robbed of his red Apple iPhone, valued at J$48,000
The men then made their escape in the area on foot.
A report was subsequently made to the police regarding the incident.
On Saturday, March 29, the police carried out an operation during which Henry was apprehended. He was searched and a ratchet knife was found in his possession. On Monday, April 1, Henry was placed on an Identification Parade where he was positively identified by the complainant. He was charged for the offenses after a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.
His court date is being finalized.
