Three men charged with gun crimes in St Ann have had tough bail conditions and large bail amounts set in separate cases in the St. Ann’s Bay Resident Magistrates court last Tuesday, March 10. The men appeared before RM Peter Wilson and in two of the cases they have to relocate from St Ann and have been placed under curfew while on bail. The cases involved Giovani Robinson, Kimoy Boyce and Rameish Mitchell, otherwise called Bam Bam. Bam Bam was last year named among the 10 most wanted men in St Ann. In the case against Boyce and Mitchell, they are charged jointly for murder, wounding with intent, illegal possession of firearm and illegal possession of ammunition. The two are also charged under the Criminal Justice Suppression of Criminal Organization Act ( Anti Gang Act) for being a part of a criminal organization and participating in a criminal organization. Both men are from Pineapple in Ocho Rios and the two had previously appeared in court. Boyce was charged last November and was offered $500,000 with surety and reporting conditions when he appeared in court on charges of murder and illegal possession of firearm and ammunition. However, he was slapped with additional charges under the Anti Gang Act recently which placed him back behind bars. In relation to the latest charge, Boyce was offered the same $500,000 bail last Tuesday, with stringent conditions attached. In additional to his reporting to police in Ocho Rios and being under curfew which keeps him out of the public after7 p.m. And before 6 a.m. he was ordered to surrender his travel documents. Bam Bam (Mitchell) was charged in February after he reportedly went into hiding following a murder and shooting at a Fish Fry in Pineapple last year for which he was being sought for questioning. He too was offered $500,000 bail with surety. Investigators say Bam Bam is believed to be the leader of the criminal group. In addition to his bail sum, he was ordered relocated to the parish of Hanover where he is to reside with relatives. He too has been placed under curfew and should not be in public after 7 p.m. and before 6 a.m. He is also to report to the police in Hanover and he has been banned from entering St. Ann unless he is attending court. was killed and a man seriously wounded.
The slain woman is 21-year-old Kimone Clarke, unemployed, of Mammee Bay South, near Steer Town. Shot and wounded in the incident is Kayson Walker also called “Bum Bum” and “Skel”, of a lane at 120 Main Street, Ocho Rios.
Police say Walker is before the court on a murder charge related to a killing in 2013. When North Coast Times reported the killing and followed up with investigations into it, we reported that Walker and Clarke were together at a fish fry, close to midnight on Saturday, October 18. The couple was together when they were approached by a gunman who opened fire. Information was that the gun was aimed at Walker who ducked out of the first shot that struck Clarke in the face and exited through the back of her head. She was shot twice after that and her male companion Walker, chased and shot. He was hospitalized. In the second case in court Thursday, Giovanni Robinson, 19, also called Sparter or Gio is charged for illegal possession of firearm and ammunition. He was offered $250,000 bail. As a condition of his bail Robinson is to relocate from Ocho Rios and reside with relatives in Gayle in St Mary. He was also ordered to report to the police in Gayle and he has been placed under curfew. He is to remain at home between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Robinson is due back in court on May 28. Police said they recovered a homemade gun from Robinson’s waistband. He was reportedly walking along the roadway in Ocho Rios when his actions aroused the suspicion of police who carried out a search of his person. Police said they also found one live round in Robinson’s pocket.
