There have been no incidents in much of NW and NE St. Ann, areas toured by the North Coast Times this morning. The common scene was that of supporters of the PNP and JLP outside polling stations, many of which are schools, and security officers manning the gates to polling stations.
In North West St Ann, Dr. Dayton Campbell (PNP) is up against Othneil Lawrence (PNP). At Discovery Bay Primary and Junior High there were several soldiers as well as police at the gate and on the compound. Outside on make shift seats and in vehicles were supporters of both sides.
At Runaway Bay Primary, NW St Ann it was also very busy, with workers and runners of the two parties out on the road infront of the school with its several polling divisions.
At St. Ann’s Bay Primary where there are eight polling divisions (PDs), supporters of the two parties were set up under tents, as cars and vans taking voters for Desmond Gilmore (PNP) and Shahine Robinson (JLP) made their way back and forth. The tents, each on a different road, were about one hundred yards away from the gate to the polling centre.
