Annotto Bay Taste Defeat For First Time

Tacky on Tuesday knocked Annotto Bay off the top of Zone ‘I’ and took over the leadership, on Tuesday, Sept. 26.
Tacky beat Annotto Bay 6-2, to hand Annotto Bay their first loss of the daCosta Cup 2023 season.
It left Tacky with 13 points at the top. Annotto Bay remained at 12. Both teams have played five games.
Annotto Bay scored first, stunning the Tacky home crowd in Gayle. But Tacky came on level terms two minutes later with a goal from Romario Gibbs. The half ended with Tacky leading 4-1.
Three more goals came in the second half – two for Tacky — to finish the game. In addition to Gibbs, other goal scorers included captain Giovanni McLean 2, and one each from Davaughnie Ellis, Jayden Davis and Deandre Jackson.
With the scoring yesterday, McLean is still the leading goal scorer for Tacky with 9 goals so far and Giovanni Gibbs has now scored 7 goals.
Tacky have also opened up their goal difference, with 31 goals ‘for’ compared to 20 for Annotto Bay.
Meantime Horace Clarke stepped up to third place with a 6-0 win over Iona High. Horace Clarke now have 10 points, from four matches and could equal Tacky’s points with their fifth game. They have scored 20 goals.
