Described As Brilliant, Beautiful

The nine-year-old girl who was raped and then murdered, allegedly by a neighbour in Discovery Bay, St Ann, Saturday afternoon is being described as a brilliant, beautiful child.
Taliyah Thompson’s nude body was found in a pool of blood in the house of a young man in the community. He had, reportedly taken her there and assaulted her. He stabbed her multiple times.
Residents said they were alerted to the scene when the suspect attempted to commit suicide using several instruments. He hurt himself and was held and beaten.
Police took the man and Taliyah to the St Ann’s Bay hospital where she was pronounced dead and the suspect admitted under police guard.
Taliyah was a popular student at Discovery Bay Primary and Infant School.
Only last year she won the Mini Miss Discovery Bay in a community competition where she delighted with her cultural performances.
