Dead are eight-year-old Venice Burke, of Comfort Castle, and 38-year-old Warren Hill, vector control agent, of Sommers Town in the parish.

Reports are that about 6 p.m. eight-year-old Venice Burke was at home with her stepfather, at West Baptist Avenue, after leaving school. It is reported that the stepfather and another man were in the yard making furniture.

It is further reported that the child had been seen earlier and had been sent back into the house by her stepfather. Not seeing her for a while, he went to check on her.

The child was seen lying on the floor, unresponsive. A plastic bag was over her face and she was in a pool of urine. The child was taken to the Port Antonio Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
