Driver Fled Leaving ID, Phones
Police believe they should easily locate the driver of a car, that had a firearm inside, which crashed along the Runaway Bay Main Road, St Ann, after their signal to stop was disobeyed.
According to the police, one 9mm Taurus Pistol and a magazine containing seven 9mm rounds of ammunition were seized in the incident on Tuesday night, about 10:30.
Reports are that a police team was on patrol in the area when they observed a Toyota Camry motor car being driven in a reckless manner along the main road.
The police signalled the driver of the motor car to stop. However, the vehicle sped off. The motor vehicle was later found abandoned after it crashed into a fence near the Flavours beach.
Reports are that in addition to the gun, the police found a driver’s licence, cellular phones and cash in the vehicle.
Investigations are ongoing.
