St Ann Council observes minute of silence for fallen firefighter

 

The St Ann Municipal Corporation (SAMC) today observed a minute of silence in the expression of their regret at the death of 25-year-old firefighter Larenzo Douse, who was killed in a traffic crash last week Wednesday, November 30.

 

A candlelight ceremony is being held Thursday night, December 8, in Mr Douse’s honour at Dam Head, near Moneague, St Ann, his hometown.

 

Douse was killed when a car crashed into the back of a fire truck on Bull Point road Ocho Rios. Douse was completing the securing of a hose at the back of the truck when he was crushed by the car.

 

Speaking at the monthly meeting of the SAMC Thursday, Assistant Superintendent of Fire for St Ann, Carol Wilmot thanked the Council and individual councillors for their expression of grief and condolences over the death of Mr Douse.

 

At the suggestion of Councillor Ian Isaacs, the Council observed a minute of silence for Mr Douse.
