The College of Agriculture Science and Education (CASE), in Portland, has been closed because of water problems.
The College was closed Tuesday by order of the administration and students left the campus that day. They are expected to return on Sunday, by which time it is expected that the lack of running water on the campus near Port Antonio will be fixed.
The North Coast Times reported Monday that students were complaining about health hazards and inconvenience caused after the break-down of the pump that supports the college’s water supply system.
A meeting was held Monday and the progress was discussed in fixing the broken water pump. Students were put on standby for the likely closure Tuesday.
Students were advised to leave the campus by mid-day Tuesday and have also been advised that they should expect an email before Sunday when they are expected back on campus, ahead of examinations.
