The three people who died in the three-vehicle crash at Braco, Trelawny, Thursday, were all from districts of Brown’s Town, St Ann.
They include a couple — 50-year-old Tomie-Lee McCook and his wife, 49-year-old Anette McCook, of Aberdeen near Brown’s Town and 63- year-old Newin Johnson of Liberty Valley, Brown’s Town and Chester District, all in St Ann.
According to the police “about 2:30 p.m., Mr McCook was driving a Nissan minivan along the roadway when it collided head-on with a Toyota coaster bus [driven by Johnson]. McCook, his wife and the driver of the coaster bus were injured and taken to the hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries.”
However, other reports say a Honda City motorcar and the Coaster bus driven by Johnson were proceeding West, along the roadway. The car was overtaking and crashed into the Nissan which was going in the opposite direction. The Nissan bus then got out of control and slammed into the Coaster. The McCooks were thrown through the windscreen and were left hanging from the vehicle.
The Falmouth Police are investigating.
