On Friday night, May 9, robbers again struck in the Lime Hall Community, at a house near Sussex and got away with millions in loot. The house which contains several apartments is owned by Stanley Grey, a US citizen who lives away. The robbers gained entry by removing the blades from one of the back windows and used a steel cutter to cut away the grills. When our correspondent visited the area it was discovered that all curtains and drapes were stolen along with a washingmachine, two flat screen television sets, two stoves — one electric and the other gas fuelled –and a number of kitchen utensils were missing, Also stolen were two mattresses, a number of sheets, a beside lamp and a bottle of wine was removed from the owner’s bedroom. Two computers were also stolen, one from the living room and the other from the bedroom. The culprits disable all the outside security lights by unscrewing the bulbs, to provide cover of darkness for their act. A watchman who lives on the compound, in a staff house some 200 feet away from the main house told The Times that he did not hear any sound of house breaking. According to him, it is on Saturday morning when he and went to the premises to carry out his regular duties that he discovered that the place had been broken into. He said he immediately called the St. Ann’s Bay Police Station and alerted area residents. This is the second house in the area that has been stripped, in the last two months. In march of this year robbers went to the house of the Williams family at Newground Gate in Lime Hall and removed a number of appliances, furniture and household articles. The Williamsfamily are US citizen and live in the US and like Mr Gray visit Jamaica regularly.
