The St Mary Police issued a picture of Dwight Henry, who is wanted for the murder of two US missionaries. Head of the Area Two police, ACP Fitz Bailey is appealing to the residents of St Mary to assist the police in locating the wanted man
Henry, who is 25-year-old, escaped the custody of the St Mary police, while seeking medical attention at the Port Maria Hospital on Wednesday, January 4.
Henry was in custody awaiting trial into the murder of two US missionaries last year.
“We believe that Henry is still in the parish of St Mary and we are appealing to persons to come forward with the information,” ACP Bailey stated.
He also indicated that Henry was seen once by the police, but eluded them and has not been seen since. He also indicated that investigations are ongoing into the actions of officers during the time Henry escaped from the Port Maria Hospital.
Persons with information on his whereabouts are encouraged to call the hotline at 994-2452, police 119 emergency number, or the nearest police station.
He was charged on June 29, 2016 for the April 30 2016 murders of missionaries 48-year-old, Randy Hentzel, and 53-year-year old Harold Nichols.
Another man, 25-year-old Andre Thomas, was also charged in relation to the murder.
Henry was being held at the Oracabessa lock-up, at the time of his escape.
