Hunt on for alleged St Mary child molester

The St. Mary police are seeking the public’s assistance in finding a man wanted for grievous sexual assault, shooting with intent and illegal possession of firearm.

He is Ian Blamolesterke also called Signy, a mechanic, from Highgate in the parish.

The police are appealing to Blake to turn himself over to them. They say that Blake is armed and dangerous and anyone knowing his whereabouts should contact the nearest police station.

Blake is wanted for grievous sexual assault after a report was made by a relative that he fondled a ten-year-old child.

Investigations by The Times revealed that Blake lives at Gully Road Highgate with a woman and her three children. He was seen in a room with a ten-year-old girl, the child of a woman with whom he was having a relationship. It is reported that the child was heard making protestations when her brother entered the room and made an alarm, claiming Blake was making seen in carrying out lewd acts on the child.

The police were informed. Area residents said Blake was seen all over the town for days after, even following a report by media that did not name him.

The child was taken to the hospital for examination and doctors have confirmed that no sexual penetration had occurred. The Child development Agency (CDA) is now involved in the matter.

The police have not been able to apprehend Blake, as they say he has been elusive.

On Sunday, April 17, Blake was seen in the Highgate area in the morning. It is reported he had been working on a car all morning, on Main Street.

In the afternoon police reportedly spotted Blake and tried to apprehend him. According to them Blake drove away and was involved in an exchange of gunfire with the police. However, he escaped capture.

It is following that incident that police named Blake as wanted.

The St. Mary police are now seeking Blake to charge him for shooting with intent and illegal possession of firearm following the incident last Sunday.
