Jamaica’s oldest servicing parish councilor, Arthur Rudolph Clemetson, turns 80 next month and says he still feels fit and passionate to serve his constituents.Councillor Clemetson, who represents the Dry Habour Division for the People’s National Party in North West St. Ann, will be 80 years old on Sunday, March 9 and already he is eagerly looking forward to what he describes as a “blessed occasion” .The hard working, businessman, parish councillor, Justice of the Peace, philanthropist and politician is already in high spirits and claims to be feeling as fit as ever. The soon to be octogenarian was also quick to put to rest any reports about plans for retirement soon.Councillor Clemetson explained that it was his hard work as his love for humanity that has been keeping him alive and well and that he is fully prepared to continue his service to the people for few more years.Over the years, the highly respected Councillor Clemetson has been seen as a father figure for many people in the Dry Habour area of St. Ann, especially in Discovery Bay where he resides. His services as councilor, JP and a mediator continue to be in high demand.
