The Ocho Rios Primary School, on Thursday, December 18 held an appreciation ceremony at the Ocho Rios High School that honored, Herman Grant, retired principal for the Ocho Rios Primary School. Mr Grant served the school for 29 years. The ceremony was graced by chairman, Howard Isaacs, principal of the Moneague College and guest speaker Senator Ruel Reid, principal of Jamaica College. The event focussed on Mr Grant, highlighting his invaluable service and contribution to education and community. He is now president of the Ocho Rios Kiwanis Club. Mr Grant was recognised for his many efforts in shaping the lives of hundreds of young children during his tenure at the Ocho Rios Primary School. Following the function at the high school, events moved to the Almond Tree Restaurant, on Main Street, Ocho Rios, for a dinner. Here several tributes were paid to Mr Grant.
