Head-on Collision Near Galina Leaves Two Dead

Two people died in a traffic crash in St Mary, Monday afternoon, October 26, 2026.
The St Mary police say the crash took place about  2:00 p.m. along the Galina Main Road.
They said a white Toyota Hiace bus was travelling towards Port Maria while a grey Toyota Fielder motor car with three people on board was travelling in the opposite direction, towards Oracabessa. At a certain point on the road, the Hiace driver reportedly lost control, swerved into the opposite lane, and the bus collided with the Fielder.
As a result of the collision, both drivers and passengers sustained injuries and were rushed to the Port Maria Hospital, where two passengers from the Toyota Fielder were pronounced dead. The other people involved were being treated Monday night at the hospital for serious injuries.
The Saint Mary Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision.
Motorists are being urged to exercise due care and attention, observe speed limits, and maintain proper lane discipline at all times to prevent collisions and preserve lives on our roadways.
