GUNMAN KILLED HER IN BAR AS SHE FLED

A bar owner was chased and shot to death in her establishment in Dover, St Mary.
Dead is 57-year-old Marlene Yvonne McCalla, otherwise called “Mammy,” a bar owner of Dover district in the parish.
Police reports are that the incident occurred about 7:30 p.m. on Monday, September 14, 2026, at a bar operated by McCalla in the Dover community.
Reports are that McCalla was inside the establishment when she was approached by a man armed with a handgun. She reportedly ran further inside the bar, where the gunman opened fire, hitting her multiple times before fleeing the scene.
McCalla was rushed to the Annotto Bay Hospital, where she succumbed while undergoing treatment.
Police said no motive has been established for the killing.
