Fifty-nine-year-old teacher, Angella Hamilton, also called Miss Angie, was found dead at home, with her throat slashed and with stab wounds.

When Ms Hamilton could not be reached Saturday, a friend went to her home at Post Road, St Mary, about 3:30 and found her dead.

In response to a query by the North Coast Times, the principal of the Pear Tree Grove Primary and Infant School said: “The school and PTA body are  devastated by the loss of our beloved ‘Miss Angie’.” The school said Ms Angie taught most of those who are now parents of students at Pear Tree Grove.

Principal Miss Thompson said Ms Hamilton was “helpful and very kind” and was a devout Christian, always encouraging people to give their lives to the Lord.

Ms Thompson said Ms Hamilton was well-loved and her passion was the school and seeing it develop.

Before Richmond Hill Basic School was absorbed into the Pear Tree Grove Primary to become the Infant Department of that school, Ms Hamilton was the principal of Richmond Hill Basic School where she worked for 38 years.

Police said Wednesday, January 15, there was no breakthrough yet in their investigations.
