Man Turns Himself In Following Killing
A taxi operator is dead and another is in police custody after a car chase and fight in St Mary.

Dead is 34-year-old Negus DaCosta, taxi operator who plied the Free Hill to Oracabessa route in the parish.
Another taxi operator turned himself in to police in connection with DaCosta’s death.
Reports are that the man now in custody was told by a close relative that DaCosta had raped her.
It is believed that the taxi operator who had been told of the alleged rape was on his way to report the incident at the Oracabessa police station when, on reaching an area in Jack’s River, he saw DaCosta.
It is reported DaCosta fled in his taxi. A chase ensued and one of DaCosta’s car tyres blew. His car crashed. He attempted to escape the pursuing taxi operator and was chopped in the head.
Police took DaCosta to the Port Maria hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The other taxi operator turned himself in to police but up to Tuesday morning, August 22, he was yet to be charged.
