MUSIC DOMINATES AT FAREWELL FOR LENFORD ‘BRUTUS’ RICHARDS

Lenford George Richards, well known as “Brutus”, a local and international musician and a businessman was given a musical send-off Wednesday afternoon at Open Bible Church on Folly Road, Port Antonio.

Brutus who played with notable musicians including Burning Spears, Jolly Boys, Jah Postles died Wednesday, May 24, after a brief illness, He was 67.

Richards who was from Norwich, Port Antonio dedicated his life to music and local causes and was one of the few remaining players of the banjo and was an accomplished guitarist who played on the world stage.

At the remembrance service Wednesday, June 28, the programme was full of music including performances by  Dean Fraser, Michael Cross, Live Wyya, Janice, and Antonette Bradshaw amongst others.

His body was laid to rest at Prospect Cemetery.

Pallbearers mainly from ‘Real Fathers’ of which Lenford Brutus Richards was a member, remove his body from the Open Bible Church, Port Antonio.
