THIRD FATAL COLLISION IN DAYS ON THIS STRETCH OF ROADWAY
TOWER ISLE, St Mary; March 22, 2025
A 74-year-old man is dead following a collision Saturday afternoon, March 22, 2025, on the Harmony Hall, Prospect main road in St Mary.
Dead is Ronald Schaeffer of Tower Isle in the parish.
This is the third fatal crash in the area between Tower Isle and Rio Bueno in a matter of days this week.
MAN KILLED IN ANOTHER ST MARY CRASH
Reports to the North Coast Times are that at about 1:30 p.m., a white Toyota Corolla being driven by Mr Schaffer was making a left turn from the soft shoulder when it was struck by a white Toyota Axio. The impact caused severe damage to the right side of the Corolla.
Mr Schaffer, the driver of the Corolla, was rushed to the St. Ann’s Bay Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A passenger in the Axio sustained minor injuries to both legs and was treated.
The St Mary police are urging motorists to exercise caution on the roads, adhere to speed limits, and remain vigilant to prevent such tragic incidents.
Investigations into the collision are ongoing.
