ACCUSED OF SEXUAL TOUCHING, RAPE OF CHILD
PORT MARIA, St Mary; Nov. 29, 2025
A 64-year-old St Mary farmer has been charged with sex crimes, arising from incidents between 2023 and this year in which he is alleged to have sexually assaulted a child multiple times
Duane Gilfus of Goshen district, Lucky Hill, St. Mary, has been charged with two counts of rape and three counts of sexual touching of a child.
Allegations are that sometime between 2023 and 2024, the child and an adult relative went to Gilfus’s residence, where he reportedly used his hands to touch the girl inappropriately.
Sometime between 2024 and 2025, the girl again visited Gilfus’ house, on two separate occasions, where he sexually assaulted her.
A report was made to the police, and an investigation was launched into the matter. Gilfus was taken into custody. He was charged on Wednesday, November 26, by the St. Mary Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA), after he was positively identified during an identification parade.
His court date is being finalised.
