Seizure In Buff Bay Suggests Scamming Link
The police in Portland have arrested six people in connection with a find of two homemade guns, several cellular telephones and a notebook with contacts which suggests a lottery scamming link.
Police reports are that the two homemade firearms were seized during an operation at Orrett Lane, Buff Bay, Portland on Wednesday, July 12. Six persons were arrested during the operation.
The police say that about 1:30 p.m., lawmen carried out an operation in the area when a premises was searched and the two firearms found. A further search of the property revealed one notebook and one Samsung cellular phone containing identity and contact information of persons living overseas. Thirteen additional cellular phones were found in a bag inside the dwelling. No one was arrested in relation to the seizures.
Another premises in the area was searched and six men were taken into custody. Their identities are being withheld pending further investigations.
