Four people were killed in St Ann last week, three shot dead and one chopped and killed.
The four included the couple killed at their home in Falklands Ocho Rios, sometime between Sunday and Friday, October 13 when their decomposing bodies were discovered. They are 39-year-old Aldain Smith, otherwise called ‘Mack’ and 25-year-old Vanessa Murray., both of Mansfield Heights, also called Falklands.
The other two are a man the police say is known to them as an habitual wrong doer, 20-year-old Patrick Myrie of Lewis and a 72-year-old grave digger William Patterson of Harrison Town near Ocho Rios.
LEWIS MURDER
Myrie was shot dead Friday, October 13 in Lewis near Priory. Reports are that his body was found with gunshot wounds after explosions were heard in the area late in the night.
Police said residents took to them a loaded 9MM pistol and eight rounds of ammunition taken from Myrie’s body. Police theorize that Myrie was shot by cronies following a dispute. His body was dragged along a dirt path as if there was an attempt to hide it/.
Myrie was out on bail on a robbery with aggravation charge regarding a 2015 incident.
Police had him as a person of interest in a gun incident when a new police vehicle was shot up along the road between Lewis and Priory on September 2. Two police officers in the vehicle returned the fire but men who had fired on them ran through bushes. A senior police officer told the St Ann Municipal Corporation Meeting last month that police had got a lot of information about who the culprits were.
In the case of the 72-year-old man., reports are that he was at the Ocho Rios Cemetery digging a grave when he was attacked by a man believed to be of unsound mind. The Ocho Rios Cemetery has long been formally closed.
