Police have charged with murder the boyfriend of a pregnant 16-year-old girl whose body was found wrapped in tarpaulin on the roadside in St
Mary.

Thirty-nine-year-old driver Labbede Carr, also known as “Chubby,” has been formally charged with the murder of 16-year-old Jadene Gayle, also known as “Big Red.” He was charged on Saturday, January 18, after a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.
Mr. Carr is a resident of 15 Sligo Road, Mountain View, St. Andrew. Jadene who lived with him was discovered wrapped in a blue tarpaulin on January 5, 2025, at approximately 4:00 PM in Devon Pen, St. Mary. Her body had what were considered strangulation marks, and bruises. (Click this caption to ee earlier story)
BODY OF PREGNANT WOMAN IDENTIFIED AS 16-Y-O
The police investigation, led by the St. Mary Division, took Carr into custody after Jadene’s mother identified her.
Carr’s court date is being finalized.
The St Mary police said they remain committed to delivering justice for the victim and her family and urge anyone with additional information regarding the case to come forward.
