3 ARRESTED; TRUCK, TRACTOR SEIZED

The St Ann police seized ganja worth $300 million and arrested three men in an early morning drug bust near Priory in the parish Saturday, November 30, 2024.

Police said they seized several parcels of compressed ganja weighing nearly 3,000 pounds.
Reports to the North Coast Times are that at about 4:30 a.m., police on patrol along the North Coast Highway stopped a truck and a tractor that was following closely, near Priory. When the vehicles were searched, the police found what they said were several parcels of ganja and a 50-gallon drum of oil.
Three men, two Jamaicans and a Bahamian national were arrested.
The police operation continued well into the morning and resulted in long lines of traffic along the usually busy thoroughfare.
