3 teens charged for murder of 18-y-o

TEEN IN COURT FOR HOLD UP AND ROBBERY OF PHONE FROM SCHOOLGIRL

Three juveniles who were reportedly involved in the hacking death of an 18-year-old man in the Runaway Bay area last month have been charged with murder. A fourth person, said to be an adult male, who was also implicated in the brutal attack on the youth, is expected to be placed on an identification parade this week. The teens were charged last week and are expected to face the court sometime this week. They are charged for the chopping death of 18-year-old Lemar Williams also called ‘Fat Head’ of Black Ants Lane in Runaway Bay, St. Ann.  He is a graduate of Brown’s Town High School.

Williams was hacked to death on August 30, reportedly by the group of juveniles in the Cox Heath area of Runaway Bay. Police had earlier reported that about 10:30 p.m., Williams was walking along the Runaway Bay main road when he was attacked by a group of boys. They were reportedly armed with machetes. Williams reportedly ran to the Cox Heath area in a bid to escape his attackers. However, he was chased and when his attackers reportedly caught up with him, a vicious attack was launched. The motive for the attack has not been revealed by police or the man’s family contacted by The Times.

He was chopped several times and died on the spot. His attackers fled the scene. They were, however, held during a special police operation. Police said after intense investigations three of the Juveniles were charged. The Runaway Bay police are investigating.
