3 NOMINATED FOR NE ST ANN BY-ELECTION

PM HOLNESS LEADS JLP SUPPORTERS

ST ANN’S BAY, St Ann, Sept. 11, 2024

Three people will be seeking to represent the North East St Ann Constituency in Parliament, following the by-election September 30.

The three were nominated Wednesday, on Nomination Day, at the offices of the Electoral Office of Jamaica in St Ann’s Bay.

David Fritz Anderrson………………………….Matthew Samuda……………………..Chase Neil

They are, in the order of their nomination at the centre:

  • David Anderson, 52-year-old businessman, Independent
  • Matthew Samuda, representing the Jamaica Labour Party
  • Chase Neil, teacher, representing the United Independents Congress UIC.

The People’s National Party PNP did not nominate a candidate. It says it is awaiting the General Elections that are due within another year.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness, JLP Leader led a large throng of JLP supporters who accompanied Mr Samuda to the Nomination Centre, just after 1 p.m..

The other nominees were accompanied by a few supporters and went through the process under the direction of Returning Officer Rupert Brown and team.
