BUS OPERATOR SHOT DEAD, MURDER ALSO IN OCHI AND GOLDEN GROVE
Three men were killed in a period of just over 12 hours between Saturday night and Sunday morning, November 18-19.
The murders occurred in Street Town, Ocho Rios and Golden Grove in the parish.
BUS OPERATOR SHOT DEAD
A bus operator was shot dead in Steer Town, St Ann on Sunday.
Dead is 60-year-old Paul Campbell. Police give his address as Priory in the parish but friends say he is from Mt Edgecombe, near Runaway Bay.
Detectives assigned to the St. Ann’s Bay Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB) are probing the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of Mr Campbell, also called Biggie or Mr Biggs. He operated on the Brown’s Town to Ocho Rios route.
Reports are that about 10:05 a.m., Sunday, November 19, residents heard explosions and alerted the police. On arrival of the lawmen, Campbell’s body was seen sitting motionless around the steering wheel of a Blue Toyota Hiace bus with gunshot wounds to his head and left side.
Investigations continue.
MAN STABBED TO DEATH IN OCHI
A man was stabbed to death in Oho Rios before daylight on Sunday morning following a dispute with a woman.
Dead is thirty-one-year-old Romaine Chin, of Main Street, Ocho Rios, St. Ann.
Reports from the Ocho Rios Police are that about 1:10 a.m., an argument developed between Chin and a woman on DaCosta Drive when a man intervened and inflicted stab wounds to his body. Chin was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Investigations continue. -30-
KILLED AT HOME
And a labourer was shot and killed on Saturday night, November 18, in St Ann.
Dead is forty-six-year-old Damion Johnson otherwise called ‘Birdman’, a of Lyford district, Golden Grove, St. Ann.
He was shot and killed at his home on Saturday.
Reports from the Claremont Police are that about 9:30 p.m., residents heard explosions and later went to investigate. Johnson’s lifeless body was seen with multiple gunshot wounds.
He was taken to the hospital where the death was confirmed. Investigations continue.
