The St Ann police have three men in custody in relation to the murder and alleged sexual assault of an elderly woman, who was found at her home in Salem/Runaway Bay, St Ann on Wednesday, May 17.
The woman killed, 88-year-old Netty Rowe, was found in her bedroom with multiple stab wounds.
According to head of the St Ann police, superintendent Gary Francs, in an interview with The Times last Friday, the three men are to face an identification parade in relation to the case before any charges can be laid against them.
Reports are that the woman’s body was discovered by a relative at around 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 17 with multiple stab wounds to the chest.
At the time, the police said it appeared that the elderly woman may have been sexually assaulted.
She lived alone at Salem, along the main street in an area that is becoming increasingly commercialized. Reports are that she had someone who cared for her and that one of those held was known to her.
