3 CHARGED FOR LOTTERY SCAMMING IN PORTLAND

HIGH-END VEHICLES, ELECTRONIC DEVICES, AND CASH SEIZED

PORT ANTONIO, Portland; March 27, 2026

Three men from Portland have been charged in connection with lottery scamming activities. Police said they were carrested during targeted operations involving members of the Anti-Lottery Scam Unit within the Specialized Investigation Branch (SIB).

They are:

  • Twenty-two-year-old Jaheim Smith and thirty-year-old Delroy Howard, both of Anchovy Land Settlement, and twenty-six-year-old Kimani Pollack, of Kildaire, Buff Bay, all in Portland.

 

Reports are that in Portland on Monday, March 23, and Tuesday, March 24, during coordinated searches of the men’s residences, the police team seized several electronic devices, including cellular phones and other items believed to be used in the commission of lottery scam activities. An analysis of the devices revealed identity information belonging to individuals believed to be residing overseas. A Mercedes-Benz motorcar and a Toyota Mark X motorcar were also seized during the operation, along with over J $300,000 cash.

The men were subsequently interviewed and formally charged under the Law Reform (Fraudulent Transactions) Special Provisions Act, 2013.

Their court date is being finalised.
