Mrs Sherwood said, “They have all got Pathway One (1).” She said parents and well-wishers should be proud of the graduates for performing so well, even though their placement did not necessarily reflect their performance. GROW WHERE PLANTED
Mrs Sherwood said parents should not be hard on their children for their high school placement. She said they should remember that some of them and others had done well in life despite not attending the so-called best high schools. She encouraged parents to support their children at high school with what mattered. Mrs Sherwood said, “Pretty hairstyles, nice bags [and], big boots will not help your child at high school.” She urged them to support the children and help them to grow where they were planted. “It’s not the school you are placed in that matters. It’s how you apply yourself,” Mrs Sherwood said.

Mrs Sherwood said the school had experienced several problems during the academic year 2023-24, including having to deal with acquiring water supplies and storage when the NWC system was down for Brown’s Town and surrounding areas. She said the school also had to delay work on the playfield but it was hoped the facility would be completed by September.
Giving a review of the year, Mrs Sherwood said the school opened in September with 130 students but grew over the months. She spoke about the involvement of students in extracurricular activities including the JCDC competitions where they won silver and bronze medals. Also, she mentioned one student who had done well in the Jamaica Library Service Reading Competition.
Five students delivered the valedictory address. Five students Jayce Campbell, Davia Campbell, Zidon Hunter, Reginae Richards, and Kejaun Haydèn.
