ATTACKED ALONG CASTLETON ROAD
PORT MARIA, St Mary — August 2, 2024
Police are investigating Wednesday night’s shooting of two women in St Mary.
Reports are that at about 9 o’clock Wednesday, July 31, two women were walking home, along the roadway in Castleton.
One of them is a resident of Golden Valley, St Mary and the other is from St Catherine.
Reports are that a white Nissan Ad wagon drove up to the women and two men alighted from the vehicle. The men opened fire at the women.

The men then escaped in the motor vehicle in which they came.
The women who received gunshot wounds to the thigh and leg made their way to the Castleton police station where the incident was reported. They were taken to the Annotto Bay hospital where they were treated for gunshot wounds.
The Port Maria Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) is investigating
A motive for the shooting has not been established.
Just last week a man washing his car by the roadside in Castleton was shot and wounded.
In both cases, the police have not determined a motive.
