 2 ST ANN MEN CHARGED WITH GUN CRIME IN PORTMORE

COPS SEIZE GUN, AMMO AFTER CAR INTERCEPTED

ST ANN’S BAY, St Ann, Jan 14, 2026

Two men from St Ann are among three arrested and charged in connection with a gun and ammunition seized from a car in which they were travelling in Portmore, St Catherine.

Charged are:

  • Twenty-two-year-old Jordane Thompson, of Coley District, and thirty-two-year-old Joseph Currie, otherwise called ‘Juggy’, of Seville Heights and Roy Street, both of St. Ann.

The other man is twenty-five-year-old Andre Henry, of Loraine Avenue, Kingston 10.

They have been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition following a seizure on Municipal

Boulevard, Portmore, St. Catherine, on Monday, January 12.

Reports from the Greater Portmore Police are that at about 1:45 a.m., a police team was patrolling the area when they received information about a group of men, said to be armed, travelling aboard a grey Toyota Fielder. The vehicle was later intercepted, and a search was carried out.

During the search, a black Smith & Wesson .45 pistol with a magazine affixed containing five .45 cartridges was found in the armrest of the vehicle. Following the seizure, all three men were taken into custody and were jointly charged on Tuesday, January 13.

Their court date is being finalised.
