2 OCHI CHOPPING DEATHS

Two men, said to be in their fifties, were stabbed and chopped to death in separate incidents in Ocho Rios, St Ann, between Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.

Dead is 50-year-old Kirk Jones of Pineapple Place in Ocho Rios.

The other man, who died on Sunday morning as a result of chop wounds, has not been identified.

A release from the police’s information arm, the Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) said that Jones was stabbed in the Pineapple area on Saturday, September 23.

The release said that: “reports from the Ocho Rios Police are that about 12:36 p.m., Jones and another man were involved in a dispute, when the man used a knife and stabbed Jones several times. The police were summoned and Jones was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.”

The release did not state if the man who allegedly stabbed Jones was apprehended.

In the second incident 49 year-old Lenworth Riley otherwise called ‘Ninja’, of Spring Valley in St Mary, was found with chop wounds near to the Ocho Rios clock on Main Street.

Riley, was allegedly found with chop wounds to the back of his head and on one of his arms.

He was taken to the hospital by police personnel but he died while undergoing treatment.

The police have not identified a motive for Riley being chopped or by whom.
