The death count is now two following the bus and truck crash on the Llandovery Main Road, yesterday (Friday, Aug. 12)
Dead are: 46 y-o Marvalyn Anderson Higgins, housewife and 54-y-o Lenora Campbell, nurse assistant, both of Knapdale, near Brown’s Town, St Ann.
The two were passengers in a Hiace passenger bus that slammed into the back of a Toyota Axio on a section of the road near Salem. Police said both vehicles heading toward St Ann’s Bay were overtaking. Both drivers were hospitalized after the bus ended up on its top in a ditch and the car also ended up in bushes off the highway. The bus plies the Brown’s Town to Ocho Rios route.
The women died in hospital hours after the crash. More than a dozen people were hospitalized.
Police have not yet issued a report on the crash.
