Areas of Islington, Retreat under security measures until Saturday

Two curfews are in effect in St Mary: one has been in place for more than two weeks, and the other has been extended in an area previously under the security measure.
The curfews were extended for Islington and the Retreat areas of the parish.
The Islington Curfew has been repeatedly renewed for 48-hour periods, since first imposed on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2026. The security measure came following a triple murder in Robins Bay, Wednesday, September 9. Police say they are using it to fight criminal activities in the area.
The latest extension means the measure will continue from Thursday, September 24 and remain in effect until 6 p.m. Saturday, September 26, 2026. It will cover small parts of Rosend, Strawberry Fields, Islington, Baccaswood and White Hall.
RETREAT CURFEW
A curfew imposed Tuesday and set to expire Thursday, September 24, at 6 p.m. in sections of Retreat and St Mary has been extended. The curfew will continue and will remain in effect until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2026.
The boundaries of the curfew are as follows:
NORTH: From the Prospect Gulf main road in the vicinity of the Charles Town Road intersection, extending east to the Spring Valley main road in the vicinity of Valley Bush Crossing.
EAST: From the Spring Valley main road in the vicinity of Valley Bush Crossing, extending south to a vegetated area in Retreat Content. SOUTH: From a vegetated area in Retreat Content, extending west to a section of Three Hills near the Liberty Estate Housing Scheme. WEST: From a section of Three Hills near the Liberty Estate Housing Scheme, extending north to the Prospect Gulf main road in the vicinity of the Charles Town Road intersection.
During the hours of the curfews, persons within the boundaries of the security measure are required to remain indoors unless otherwise authorised by the persons in charge of enforcing the curfews.
