Two people have been charged following the seizure of 300 pounds of ganja in Alexandria, St Ann, Wednesday.
Reports from the Alexandria Police are that Vehicle Check Point Operations were conducted along the Alexandria main road between midnight and 1:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 7, when a Toyota Corolla motorcar was stopped, searched and the drug found.
The drug seized has an estimated street value of approximately $1.4 million.
Thirty-three-year-old mechanic, Kerol Williams and 21-year-old Shanieka Johnson, a bartender, both of Hamony Hall, St. Elizabeth were arrested and charged in connection with the seizure. Police said they will appear in the St. Ann Parish Court early next week.
