14-y-o on murder charge for death of best friend

The 14-year-old boy, accused of fatally stabbing a 13-year-old Holland High school student, in Trelawny over a week ago was charged and brought before the court last week.

The teen who cannot be named because he is a minor  was charged last Thursday, January 9 and brought before the Trelawny family court the following day Friday, January 10. He was offered bail in the sum on $250, 000.

He is charged for the fatal stabbing of 13-year-old Jevaughnie Gordon following an altercation in Clark’s Town, Trelawny on Friday, January 3, 2014. They were reportedly best friends  and lived next door to each in the Botton Town community in Clark’s Town.

 Reports are that about 7:45 p.m., Friday, January 3, an argument developed between the accused and Jevaughnie while they were at an entertainment spot in their community.

 It is alleged that the 14-year-old left for his home in Bottom Town, a few metres away and returned shortly after with a knife which he used to stab Jevaughnie.

 Jevaughnie reportedly walked a short distance away then collapsed. He was rushed to the Falmouth hospital where was pronounced dead. The 14-year-old boy was arrested by the Clark’s Town Police, and later charged with murder.

He is scheduled to re-appear in court in the Trelawny Family court on Tuesday, February 11.
