CHILDREN AND ELDERLY MAKE UP RESIDENTS IN SHELTER
More than 110 people were in shelters in Portland as of 11 o’clock Wednesday morning.
There have been power cuts in parts of the parish and strong guts plus intermittent showers.
The shelters in operation are in East as well as West Portland.
Those who have sought shelter as Beryl started to affect the country included the elderly and women with babies. The greatest number 33 are at Manchioneal All Age.
The North Coast Times can report there were six at Drapers All Age, six also at Titchfield High, Port Antonio High, seven; Shirley Castle Primary, five; Buff Bay 10, Mount Pleasant City Mission 13 and Hope Bay 24. Other shelters accounted for more than another 20 people
